Preston Moss is a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and graduated from The University of Georgia in 1979. He is married to Traci Skelton Moss, and he has four children – Preston Jr., Brittany, Carlee, and John Patten. He and his family are members of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Preston has served as the Past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Augusta, Past President of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Past President of the Augusta Players, Past Board Member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia, Past President of the Augusta Country Club, Past Board Member of University Hospital Healthcare Foundation and Co-Chair of the Jernigan Golf Tournament, Past Board Member of the Augusta Child Advocacy Center, Past Board Member of the First Tee of Augusta, Past Board Member of the Big Changes Start Small-Its Spooky to be Hungry, Past Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America Augusta Chapter, Past Vice-Chair of Episcopal Day Schools Board of Trustees, and Past President of the Kiwanis Club. He has served on the Kroc Committee and Wounded Warriors Project. Preston is a Past Board Member of the Imperial Theatre.

Preston is fully licensed in all lines of insurance in several states and has earned his Certified Authority on Workers Compensation designation. He has been with Blanchard & Calhoun Insurance Agency, Inc. since 1980 and is the agency President.
